1. Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Exhibition (Hilliard, April 17-21)
The Vietnam Memorial will be on exhibit in Hilliard for public viewing. The event is being run by Alecia Head, Hilliard City PIO. She can be reached at (904) 675-9803 or ahead@townofhilliard.com. Veterans of Foreign Wars will be providing security for the exhibit.

2. Community Preparedness Program
Emergency Management’s new Community Preparedness Program launches in 2025 – a different topic will be covered from 6pm-8pm at the Emergency Operations Center (77150 Citizens Cir, Yulee, FL 32097) on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Participants will receive a “preparedness passport” at their first class and will get credit for each different class attended; they can start any month and do not have to take classes in order. Register online at www.OneNassau.com by clicking on the “Community Preparedness Program” button on the home page and complete the form on the screen.
- April 17th – Water Safety, Rip Current Safety, and Heat Safety
- May 15th – Stop-the-Bleed and First Aid
- July 17th – Poison Control indoor and outdoor safety
- August 21st – Disaster Preparedness and Go-Kits
- September 18th – Active Assailant
- October 16th – Fire Safety and hands-on fire suppression experience
3. Hands-Only CPR Class
There is a Hands-Only CPR Class offered at the Emergency Operations Center (77150 Citizens Cir, Yulee, FL 32097) to the general public from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. The class is open to the public, and no pre-registration is required.
4. American Heart Association Basic CPR Certification certificate
This certification class will be held as part of the Community Preparedness Program on February 20. Register for the class by submitting your request using the Community Preparedness Program button on www.OneNassau.com and completing the registration screen stating that you want to attend this class. 5. Public Safety Summer Camp
EM is planning a one-week summer camp for high school girls to expose them to possible careers in emergency management. The curriculum is being designed in the next few months by Jamie McCormick.
